Uganda will send 30 athletes to compete in seven sports at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, a sports official said Tuesday.
Don Rukare, president of the Ugandan Olympic Committee, told Xinhua that the country will field athletes in athletics, swimming, table tennis, rowing, cycling, badminton and rugby sevens.
“We have several athletes who have been preparing well ahead of the Games and we are optimistic our teams will perform well in Dakar,” Rukare said.
The Youth Olympic Games will take place from October 31 to November 13 in Dakar, Senegal, and will bring together young athletes from around the world.
Dakar 2026 will be the first Olympic sporting event held on the African continent. Enditem
