13 perish, 5 critically injured in head-on collision on Sege-Ada stretch

At least 13 people have been confirmed dead following a head-on collision involving two vehicles on the Tema-Aflao main highway, according to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) on Wednesday.

Assistant Divisional Officer at the GNFS, Alex King Nartey, said in a Facebook post that the accident that occurred at Sege, near Ada, the eastern coastal city in the Greater Accra region, involved a Ford Transit and a Toyota Hiace.

According to him, there were a total of 18 persons involved in the accident, with five critically injured while the remaining perished.

“A total of 18 casualties were recorded. Sadly, 13 of the victims died, while the remaining five are in critical condition and are receiving medical attention at the Sege Polyclinic,” posted Nartey.

He further stated that the circumstances surrounding the crash, including what caused the two vehicles to collide, have not yet been disclosed. Enditem
