The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has dismissed Otto Addo, head coach of the Black Stars ten weeks into the 2026 FIFA World Cup, over a poor run of results in recent times, the association reported on its official site late Monday.
The GFA thanked the former manager for his contribution to the Black Stars over the years.
“The association wishes to thank Otto Addo sincerely for his contribution to the team and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavors,” said the GFA.
The Football Association further noted it will announce the new technical direction for the Black Stars in the coming days.
Ghana played two friendly matches in a spate of three days against Austria and Germany and lost both matches by 5-1 and 2-1, respectively.
The team will be participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup scheduled for the U.S.A., Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
The West African country, making its fifth appearance at the mundial, has been paired in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia. Enditem
