Member of Parliament for Builsa North, James Agalga, is set to be appointed the new Majority Leader in Parliament following Mahama Ayariga’s nomination as Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs-designate.
The change comes after President John Dramani Mahama nominated Hon. Ayariga for the Cabinet position, requiring him to step aside from his Majority Leader position.
Mr Agalga, a former Deputy Minister for the Interior, will now lead the Majority side in Parliament.
Meanwhile, President Mahama has reassigned Kenneth Gilbert Adjei from the Ministry of Works and Housing to the Ministry of Defence.
A statement from the Presidency said the changes have been submitted to Parliament through the Speaker in line with Article 78(1) of the 1992 Constitution.
As part of the reshuffle, Ahmed Ibrahim, Member of Parliament, has been reassigned from the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs to the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources.
The President has further nominated Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, MP, as Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation-designate. Enditem
