Ghana’s U-17 male national team, the Black Starlets, left Accra Thursday for Morocco for two international friendlies as part of preparations ahead of the West African Football Union (WAFU Zone B Championship.
According to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the Black Starlets will play their first match against Morocco’s U-17 side on Sept. 26, while the final match will be four days later.
The matches, according to the FA, are to be used by the manager, Kassim Mingle, to fine-tune his team, assess the readiness of the players, and work on areas that require improvement ahead of the WAFU tournament.
The Black Starlets are expected to return to their home country on Oct. 1 to wrap up preparations for the WAFU Zone B tournament.
The WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship, to be hosted by Burkina Faso will serve as the qualifying tournament for the 2027 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations. Enditem
