The Creative Arts Agency of Ghana (CAA) is set to introduce an initiative dubbed Ghana Arts Farm, aimed at bridging the gap between creative talent and investment opportunities in the country’s arts sector.
The Ghana Arts Farm is being developed under the agency’s Grow the Artist-in-Me Project and seeks to create a platform where artists, creative entrepreneurs and potential investors can meet, collaborate and build sustainable creative businesses.
Expected to start in August, the initiative also focuses on transforming Ghana’s culture, arts and tourism sectors through strategic partnerships and investment-driven growth.
According to the CAA, while numerous funding and investment opportunities exist through government institutions, international organisations, corporate bodies and private investors, many creatives struggle to access them due to a lack of structured engagement platforms.
The proposed Ghana Arts Farm will serve as that critical meeting point, providing opportunities for artists to pitch their ideas, showcase their creative potential and engage directly with investors interested in supporting the sector.
Explaining the idea behind the initiative, Acting CEO of CAA, Mr Gideon Aryeequaye said that Ghana has many talented creatives, yet many struggle to secure the support and funding needed to expand their work. He said the Ghana Arts Farm would help bridge that gap.
“Ghana is blessed with exceptional creative talents whose growth often depends on access to the right resources and partnerships. Through the Ghana Arts Farm, we are creating a platform where creativity meets opportunity, enabling artists and investors to engage, collaborate and build enterprises that can compete globally,” he stated.
He added that the initiative would not only support individual artists but also contribute to job creation and the overall growth of Ghana’s creative economy.
“The future of the creative industry lies in collaboration. We want to ensure that promising artistic ideas do not die for lack of support. The Ghana Arts Farm will help connect visionaries with investors who are equally passionate about driving innovation and growth in the sector,” he said.
Industry players have long called for more structured investment channels within the creative arts space, with many citing access to funding as one of the biggest challenges facing artists and creative entrepreneurs.
The Creative Arts Agency believes the periodic investors-artists meet-up programme will help address this challenge. Enditem
