Football authorities in Ghana and Portuguese national Carlos Queiroz have mutually agreed to terminate the service agreement governing his role as head coach of the Black Stars, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed on Thursday.
According to the FA, both parties agreed that under the present circumstances, ending the professional relationship was the most appropriate course of action.
“The Ghana Football Association would like to sincerely thank Carlos Queiroz for his commitment, professionalism and dedication during his time with the Black Stars,” said the FA.
It added, “We are grateful for his efforts in helping to build a stronger future for the national team and supporting the development of Ghanaian talent since taking charge ahead of the preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the AFCON 2027 qualifiers.”
The GFA extended the very best to the Portuguese in his future endeavours.
The FA announced it will announce a detailed technical direction and the next steps of Ghana’s male senior football national team, the Black Stars.
The former Real Madrid and Manchester United manager was appointed coach of the Black Stars 10 weeks to the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Queiroz lost his last two Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers in charge as head cosch to Cote d’Ivoire and The Gambia recently. Enditem
