The Adenta Circuit Court on Monday granted Salomey Awiti Baffoe bail of GH¢100,000 in the case involving the alleged publication of false news linked to the “Ghana Jollof” TikTok account.

The 40-year-old senior nursing officer was granted bail with two sureties, who must both be civil servants earning at least GH¢3,000 per month.

She is facing a charge of abetment of crime, to wit publication of false news, and has pleaded not guilty. The prosecution alleges that she acted as a liaison for TikToker Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, popularly known as “Ghana Jollof,” and assisted in the redistribution of videos.

As part of the bail conditions, Baffoe is required to report to police investigators every two weeks. The case has been adjourned to February 17, 2027, for continuation.

Her earlier bail application was refused by the High Court on September 24, with the court citing concerns over possible interference with witnesses and ongoing cyber-related investigations. Enditem
