Fenerbahce officially unveiled Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku on Friday following his move from Napoli, with the 33-year-old presented at a press conference in Istanbul.
Footage shows Lukaku signing his contract alongside Fenerbahce board member Cihan Kamer, before holding up his No. 9 shirt for the cameras.
Lukaku said he was delighted to join the Turkish club, thanking President Aziz Yildirim, coach Ismail Kartal and the management for their trust. His thanks to Yildirim, Kamer and Kartal were also reported from Friday’s presentation.
“I’m very happy to be here. Honestly, it’s a real honour for me to be here. I’ve wanted to come here for a long time, and I’ve been waiting for this moment for a month,” he added.
Fenerbahce had previously announced Lukaku’s signing, with the striker joining after an injury-hit final season at Napoli.
Lukaku made just seven appearances and scored once for Napoli last season before returning to action with Belgium at the World Cup, where he scored three goals in six matches.
