The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has apologized to a private citizen, Ebenezer Twum Asante for inadvertently capturing and publishing his photographs, according to a statement on Wednesday.

The statement, signed by Francis Opoku Amoah, Acting Director, Public Affairs and International Relations observed that the Commission conducted routine behavioural detection exercise at the Accra International Airport (AIA) on Feb. 19 this year.

During the exercise, the statement noted that trained sniffer dogs, advanced scanning equipment, and profiling techniques were used to monitor passenger movements while ensuring minimal disruptions to airport activities.

In the course of the exercise, pictures were taken at various stages and subsequently published.

“Part of the photographs captured and published on our official social media handles inadvertently included Mr. Ebenezer Twum Asante. NACOC wishes to clarify that Mr. Ebenezer Twum Asante is not connected to or involved in any ongoing investigation by NACOC,” read the statement.

“NACOC herein sincerely apologize to Mr. Ebenezer Twum Asante for any inconvenience, distress, or misunderstanding the publication may have caused,” added the statement. Enditem
