The office of the National Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has denied allegations of diverting party dues collections into his personal account, according to a statement on Wednesday.
The statement said the National Treasurer has not used the shortcode *714*2028# to collect funds and that the shortcode is an alternative NPP dues collection shortcode.
“The attention of the Office of the National Treasurer has been drawn to a malicious publication on the Facebook page by the name ‘Wo Boooowa,’ which alleges that the National Treasurer of the Party has been diverting Party dues collections to his personal account using the shortcode *714*2028# and that the shortcode *714*2028# is an alternative NPP dues shortcode.
This is false and malicious, and it is aimed at undermining the successful dues collections we have rolled out,” read the statement.
The statement clarified that the party’s dues collection shortcode has always been *920*270# and that at no point in time has the shortcode *714*2028 been used as a revenue collection shortcode for the party in the entire duration of the tenure of the National Treasurer. Enditem
