Four persons have been reported dead in the Ghanaian capital following hours of torrential rainfall, the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) confirmed on Monday.
According to NADMO, three persons were electrocuted at Alajo, near the Ghanaian capital, Accra, while the body of the fourth person was found washed closer to a bridge at Weija SCC on the Accra-Kasoa road.
The body of the deceased persons, according to emergency responders, has been deposited at a nearby medical facility.
Torrential rainfall, which started Sunday through the morning of Monday, led to flooding homes and major roads in several parts of the Greater Accra region (province).
Motorists and commuters were left stranded at several parts of the city as the floodwaters rendered several routes impassable, worsening the already precarious vehicular traffic in the Ghanaian capital. Enditem
