President John Dramani Mahama has congratulated the Caribbean Island of the Bahamas on the celebration of its 53rd Independence Anniversary, Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has announced.
In a message shared on his official X page, formerly Twitter, Okudzeto conveyed President Mahama’s gratitude to the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas while representing the president at the 53rd Independence Anniversary of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.
“It has been an impactful and memorable official visit to the Commonwealth of the Bahamas representing President John Dramani Mahama at the 53rd Independence Anniversary,” posted the FM.
He added, “During our substantive engagement, I conveyed President Mahama’s gratitude to the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, the Hon. Philip Edward Davis, for his special invitation.”
Ablakwa emphasized that Ghana and the Bahamas share an unbreakable ancestral bond with an overwhelming majority of Bahamians tracing their ancestry and heritage to Ghana.
“Ghana congratulates the Commonwealth of the Bahamas on this milestone and looks forward to more celebrations and strategic partnerships,” the foreign minister further stated.
Diplomatic relations between Ghana and the Bahamas are strong and continually expanding, anchored by shared ancestral bonds and robust bilateral agreements.
The partnership includes a reciprocal visa-waiver agreement, expanded skilled labor mobility, and active discussions to boost trade and direct flight connectivity. Enditem
