Ghana’s U-17 Women’s national football team, the Black Maidens, have been paired in Group C alongside Canada, Brazil, and Norway in the 2026 FIFA World Cup later in the year.

The Black Maidens secured qualification to the FIFA World Cup Saturday after edging Senegal 7-6 on penalties to secure one of four slots for the African football federation.

The draw for the tenth edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup took place at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, in May this year.

Twenty of the 24 qualified nations knew which group they would be in ahead of the finals, while the remaining spots were to be filled by the four African nations that emerged victorious from the third round of their continental qualification campaign in July.

The 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup will take place in Morocco from Oct. 17 to Nov. 7. Enditem
