Ghana holds England in 2026 FIFA World Cup

By Francis Koena Tandoh

Ghana’s male senior football national team, the Black Stars, put on a spirited and resilient performance to draw 0-0 with the Three Lions of England in their second Group L encounter late Tuesday.

The Three Lions controlled more of the ball and created the better late chances, but Ghana stayed compact and resisted sustained pressure.

England’s closest moment came late when they hit the crossbar with Harry Kane missing the rebound.

Ghana remains unbeaten in the 2026 World Cup and has never lost a second group match in the mundial.

The result keeps Group L open heading into the final round of matches, with qualification places still to be decided. England and Ghana are tied on 4 points, with the Three Lions ahead on one superior goal.

Croatia occupies the third position with three points, while Panama sits at the bottom with no point.

Ghana will face Croatia in their last group match on June 27. Enditem
