Ghana and Kyrgyzstan have agreed to deepen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the multilateral arena, following an official visit by Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev to Accra.
Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, said the two countries would expand the frontiers of cooperation and pursue further strategic collaboration.
Kulubayev’s two-day visit, from September 30 to October 1, 2026, is the first visit to Ghana by a Kyrgyz foreign minister. It follows Ablakwa’s official visit to Kyrgyzstan in March 2026.
The two countries had earlier signed agreements on political consultations and visa exemptions for diplomatic and service passport holders. They have also identified areas including trade, mining and education for deeper cooperation.
Ablakwa also noted that Ghana supported Kyrgyzstan’s election to the UN Security Council this year, while Kulubayev supported Ghana’s UN resolution on the transatlantic enslavement. Enditem
